The legendary producer and emcee Erick Sermon of epmd, has been busy working on two efforts. The Dynamic Duos project celebrating some of the greatest two 2 man teams in hip-hop. I pray that outkast is really on this effort(if the rap gods are listening make it so). He is also working on a solo effort and that is what this teaser entitled “Come Thru” is from. I found this song intriguing cause it featured Craig Mack(yes, flava in your ear) Craig Mack and Mr Cheeks of the lost boys. Two of 90’s hiphop royalty not heard from in sometime and they did not disappoint delivering dope bars over Sermons signature synth funk bounce type production. Then adding method man who has been on a lyrical high as of late to the mix to anchor this jawn only adds the finishing touch to get this added to my 2018 play list. I just hope Sermons solo album is a lot more like “come Thru” because his previous solo work always had bangers for singles but then started to sound like just def squad compilations.
