The legacy James Yancey is undisputed. I am a certified Hip-hop Head for life(So I came in way early). We are talking back when he did the one little indian remix for the artist “little indian”. So I am happy to see a artist of his calibur getting this kind of tribute even if it is after his death(Note: all you people who say you love hip-hop show love while these people are alive). I avoided joining the legion of blog posters on his birthday reflecting on Dilla’s greatness but I couldn’t let the month just go by without talking about someone who championed a style of production that is now a mainstay in our culture. I found a interesting documnetary from BBC radio 1Xtra on sound clound that sums up a lot about the man. So without furhter bla blah………….I give you
P.S. the vinyl toy of Dilla above was designed by Phil Young Song and is to be released by the J Dilla Foundation
