Jay Allen “I’m human”

Jay Allen is a 14-year-old mc from San Diego. After hearing this release I feel he has promise. I enjoy his choice of production, a chill jazz feel that reminds me of early left coast sonics by groups like world renowned, casual, del,heiro etc…… His flow is a laid back delivery used to drop introspective gems on the hopes and desires of an up and coming artist. I don’t know if he is reaching to show the range of human experience through this process or attempting to just show how he is only human, dealing with the day to day issues and vice. So it feels like a concept album without overtly revealing it. If I asked the artist I am sure he would say, “nah man I am just kicking some rhymes about life…stop thinking so hard”.
