Nappy Roots dropped “Hazy” last week and they are following it up with “40 intro”, which is a honest observation of the world as they see it over a classic 808 heavy banger beat. This is the south I miss most right here. Nappy Roots always kept a conscious side to them even during the height of their pop success. The thing I like most about this song is the fact it reflects the soulful introspection that once defined the south but it is largely ignored right now for club bangers. I look forward to what Nappy Roots has to offer especially if it is more of this. ENJOY!
