Raz Fresco is a young “duck down records” signee who started out the year dropping “insomnia” on us and is following it up with “warning shots/murda”. This is a continuation of the return of the east coast sound that I have always loved. So call it boombap or back pack. I call it hip-hop that champions the craft of lyricism from emcees. For a minute we have heard nothing but club driven dance music but hearing up and coming emcees embrace lyricism is refreshing. I hope to hear more from this dude and I shouldn’t be surprised given “duck down records” history of dropping heat.
