Wow Royce Da 5’9 killed this joint….We are waiting on him to drop his solo effort “layers” after the critically acclaimed “Prrhyme lp” with the legendary producer DJ Premier. This first track he let us hear from the “Layers” album is “Tabernacle” and it is a heavy one. He goes down one of the more introspective story paths about his life and how he began as a emcee. Also touching on the idea of God showing his hand in the fact his grand mother passed at the same hospital his child was being born on the same day and he had his first show that evening. This is quality hip-hop on every level, You walk away feeling like you know a little more about Royce and that tie in occurs that has to be there with all great songs. I love the path Royce is on right now artistically and I am very excited to check out the “layers” ep…….Enjoy!
