Sam Flores has always been one of my favorite artists because he incorporates 2 of my great loves cartoons and graffiti in his work. His style reminds me of some of the characters drawn by a talented graphic designer, whom I once work with in the salt mines of corporate america(shout out to Brad). Below is his modest bio lifted from Wikipedia and a short interview with vimby TV. Get familiar.
“Sam Flores (born 1975) is an American visual artist, illustrator, and muralist, primarily creating urban and graffiti-inspired modern art. He has worked with various mediums, including acrylics, pen and ink, and sculpture. Much of his early work focused on developing designs for skateboarding and clothing companies. He has displayed in the United States, Canada, Singapore, Japan and throughout Europe.”
Here is a solid vimby interview. I hope we get a shot at interviewing artists like this at some point.
