Skyzoo is a well known maintsay in the boombap genre of hiphop for some time now and has staked a claim as a heir apparent to that classic hiphop flow and bop we love here at badmagics. He recently dropped a joing project with none other than Pete Rock. Now he is following that up with a release on the Tuff kong records label out to Rome, Italy. This effort is entitled the bluest note a obvious nod to the much loved blue note records. If you don’t know blue note has released the works of many of the great modern jazz masters and has been a source of sample and inspiration for much of the boom bap hiphop genre. Skyzoo is right at home in this lane taking over where Guru left off with his jazz series with style. This album is a great bop to listen to even though it is more of a ep(which is usual for modern releases due to the listeners short attention span). This release only contains 6 songs but the skyzoo delivers on each joint with the sound bed created by jazz group dumbo station who Sky has worked with for a couple of years since they met overseas. All in All this is a good effort and a nice chill vibe to ease into the summer months with. Have a glass of wine and vibe. ENJOY!
